How does it all work?
When charities and grassroots groups need to reach people in other languages but lack the budget for professional services, ProZ Pro Bono steps in. We connect them with volunteer translators, interpreters, and language experts from the global ProZ.com community who generously give their time and expertise to causes they consider worthy.
From translation to review and delivery, or coordinating interpreting assignments, we handle the process so organizations can focus on their mission. This is not about replacing professional, paid work. It ensures that when funds are scarce, vital messages still cross borders and reach those who need them most.
Translation
We help nonprofits and charities translate their websites, training resources, project documents, consent forms, and more into a wide range of languages. By doing so, we support organizations in reaching diverse communities, whether that means translating from English into Telugu, Swahili, Burmese, Yoruba, or many others. Together we open doors to understanding and inclusion.
Interpreting
If you need interpreters for planned events, workshops, or important meetings, we can connect you with volunteer professionals who want to help your cause reach multilingual audiences. For live or on-demand interpreting needs, we are also happy to refer you to trusted professionals within the broader ProZ.com community.
Other services
Many nonprofits also rely on us for language guidance, subtitling educational content, or reviewing and improving existing translations. Wherever language is a barrier, we work with our volunteer network to help organizations communicate clearly and effectively.
