The Story About The Prize For Working Hard

The Prize For Working Hard

On a summer day, Laura, a lovely 30-year-old woman, was translating many projects into French and was overwhelmed because she had to finish a lot of work by the end of the month.

Many weeks ago, she was working so hard to get more projects, subscribing to freelancing websites, and getting new contacts by recommendation from direct clients who were satisfied with her work.

After a while, she realized that she needed to reject some projects to have more time for herself. She knew that exercising, reading a good bilingual book, and having time for her family were priorities.

One day, she was surprised when a relative arrived at her house expecting accommodation. She had honestly forgotten this appointment, but she was glad to see him again.

She said to him, “It has been a while since we saw each other, Emmanuel.”

He replied, “Yeah, it was just a couple of years. Can you believe it?”

She agreed and said: “Take a seat, please. I will bring you some water. You look exhausted, by the way.”

She was also exhausted that day, but she welcomed her cousin cheerfully.

In the following days, she talked to him about life, childhood memories, and their relationships. They had also visited some casinos in her city in Nevada. The time looked infinite and flew faster than ever, probably because her city never slept.

After a week, Laura felt regret because she had forgotten to do many important projects with tight deadlines. She thought to prioritize the largest projects because if they were completed, the pressure would decrease considerably.

She also needed to talk to Emmanuel and explain her situation. He wanted to talk more and visit the Grand Hotel in the city. But he decided to give her some space at the end of the day and started giving mentoring classes online while he was at Laura's house.

The next day, she was in the right place, in her office, working and prioritizing her job. She felt tired and bored during the day, but she had some coffee and listened to some music, and then she came back to work some more.

At the end of the month, she finished her projects and looked at the payments on her phone app. She also saw many messages from her clients asking her to collaborate on other projects as a translator and project manager.

She could not hide the smile on her face of having done something very well and feeling rewarded after it all. Indeed, she understood that any job in this life has a cost and opportunity, and the prize for working hard is the opportunity to increase her revenue, gain work experience, and get better projects.
